Pengertian Rumus dan Contoh macam-macam Tenses

1.Present Tenses
Simple Present Tenses
Tenses ini digunakan untuk menunjukkan kegiatan yang dilakukan berulang-ulang atau kebiasaan.

Rumus :
S + Verb 1

Contoh :

1.      A tiger hunts deer everyday

2.      I go to the office by motorcycle

3.      I work at the office

4.      We are not usually busy on Sunday

5.      I am a teacher

6.      I speak English everyday I speak English everyday

7.      The sun rises from the east.

8.      I usually go shopping every week.

9.      Jono always plays soccer every Sunday

10.  We go to the lake every month

2. Present Continuous Tenses
Tenses ini digunakan untuk menunjukkan kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung sekarang atau saat berbicara.

Rumus :
S + be 1 + verb-ing

Contoh :

1.      A tiger is has hunting deer now

2.      Jack is sleeping now

3.      Dewi is working on that task

4.      We were watching a movie on TV

5.      They're playing ball in the yard now

6.      The teacher was explaining the lesson

7.       We are reading a newspaper now

8.      Mrs. Wulan cooking in the kitchen

9.      Mr. Asep is not going to campus

10.  She is not staying in Bekasi

3. Present Perfect Tenses
Tenses ini digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan yang telah dilakukan tetapi masih ada hubungannya dengan waktu sekarang.

Rumus :
S + has/have + verb 3

Contoh :

1.      Budi and Agus have worked here for five years.

2.      I have called you several times this week.

3.       I have gained five pounds since I started my diet.

4.       I have never tried to raise chickens.

5.      I have seen that movie twenty times.

6.      They have had three tests in the last week.

7.      I have been to Bandung in the last year

8.      Rina has not finished his homework yet

9.       The army has attacked that city five times.

10.  I have seen the movie.

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tenses
Tenses ini digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang telah dimulai dan berlangsung hingga sekarang

Rumus :
S + has/have + been + verb-ing

Contoh :

1.       The speaker has been talking for over two hours.

2.       Mira has been studying English since 2003

3.       I have been working for here for two hours

4.      They have been training English for year.

5.      She has been looking for me since morning.

6.       She has been living in the same house since she was born

7.      She has been watching TV every night for a long time

8.      They have been making some dresses for the last three years.

9.      They  haven’t been training for a year.

10.  He has been watering the plants for two hours.

5.Simple Past Tense

Tense ini digunakan untuk membicarakan tentang satu perbuatan yang terjadi di masa lampau.

Rumus:

S+V2+O+keterangan waktu

Contoh:

1.      I went to Surabaya yesterday

2.      I am rading a book last week.

3.      They did not go to Tokyo last month

4.      She went to Bogor a week ago

5.      He came with his wife yesterday

6.      I saw her standing there

7.      My Father bought this car last year 

8.      I never drunk coffee five years ago

9.      she went home two minutes ago

10.  Last Sunday, we went to Puncak together

6.Past Continous Tense

Tense ini menggambarkan suatu tindakan atau kejadian pada waktu tertentu di masa lampau.

Rumus:

S+was/were+V-ing+O+keteranganwaktu

Contoh:

1.      I was studying English at 8o’clock last night

2.      Sammy was waiting for us when we got off the plane.

3.      I was watching movie last night.

4.       He was cancelling his flight when we called him

5.      We were smoking yesterday.

6.      When the phone rang, she was writing a letter.

7.      Sandra was washing the dishes when a plate fell off the shelf.

8.      I was working all night yesterday

9.      He was sleeping when I came

10.  The team was runnin

7. Past Perfect Tense

Tense ini mengekspresikan tindakan di masa lalu sebelum tindakan lain terjadi, namun kejadiannya di masa lampau.

Rumus:

S+had+V3+O

Contoh:

1.      I had already left before they got there

2.      You had studied German before you moved to Germany.

3.      I had met him before you introduced us.

4.      I lost so much weight because I had begun exercising.

5.      They had established their business before 2002

6.      My parents had already eaten by the time I got home

7.      The sky had been clear after the storm was disappeared.

8.      My brother had slept

9.      They had met twice before married.

10.  I had read the book three times

8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Tense ini sama pemakaiannya dengan Past Perfect Tense, namun mengekspresikan tindakan-tindakan yang lebih lama di masa lampau sebelum tindakan lain terjadi.

Rumus:

S+had+been+V-ing+O+keterangan waktu

Contoh:

1.      The police had been looking for the criminal for two years before they caught him

2.      He had been looking for the thief for two years before he caught him

3.      I had been reading a book for two hours when he arrived.

4.      She had not been sleeping when he walked in.

5.      We had been sleeping for two hours when someone knocked on our door.

6.      The man had been working in the fields, so they were exhausted.

7.      She had been helping me when they went to scool

8.      I had been being a modeling character since 2010

9.      Isna had been sleeping for 5 hours before Her father woke up.

10.  He had been living in Jakarta about ten years
